Stress
:
What is Stress?
Why
did and where did this term come from and what does it actually mean?
What are its implications?
Let
us take a perfect example of stress.
Imagine
seeing a Lion on your way back home one day.
How does your human body cope with this?
The
HPA axis (HPA-hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis) is activated.
It causes the release of a stress hormone Cortisol. This hormone is responsible
to bring about the necessary changes needed to act in this situation:
Mind: emotions like rage, fear, anger, panic develop-these are
necessary for a quick action. All rational thinking must stop and actions
must be quick without giving much thought.
Body: Different organs start functioning to fight stress
Heart: Pumps blood rapidly and blood vessels constrict
Blood: Gets thicker and red blood corpuscles are released more
for more transport of oxygen Peripheral organs like mouth and skin: Get
dry as the water from them is mobilized inwards to more important organs.
Stomach and intestines: Digestion stops and elimination hastens
.So there is diarrhea to eliminate excess water and weight from the body.
These
responses are apt for the situations of a lion or a war at the border
of the country.
But
did you know that the body responds in the same way when we are late in
the office or when the child has to give an exam or when you have to make
a presentation?
The
body recovers from these effects after the Stressful situation is gone.
However if these situations were faced day in and day out the body gets
no time to recover from one stressful situation and it is already preparing
to fight another one. This gives rise to a condition where the body is
chronically under stress and its basic rhythm is completely lost. Regularly
having to run for the bus is like running to catch up with time -just
like running away from the lion .If you are running like this everyday.
- The
vessels constrict everyday; the blood thickens everyday and the heart
pumps faster everyday. This leads to ischemic heat diseases and blood
pressure, etc.
If
you have to make a presentation everyday and the GI -system is disrupted
- You
land up with something called as the Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
These
are just a couple of examples but there is a whole lot more.
How
can homoeopathy help?
Stress is an inevitable part of modern life. Homoeopathy helps in understanding
your personality and your individual perception of stress. Once this has
been treated your sensitivity to the same stressful situation now reduces
.It reaches a point where it is positively potent enough to stimulate
you to work. Yet its disease causing potential has been nullified and
you are free from the complaints. It broadens your perspective and gifts
you a healthy and free lifestyle.
We,
regularly, conduct workshops on stress and comprehensive care. They are
completely free of cost. We also conduct lectures on corporate stress
and homoeopathic care for companies and industries. The faculty involves
four qualified and well-experienced medicos.
Dr.Shachindra Joshi, Dr.Bhawisha Joshi, Dr. Zahid Panchi and Dr. Amol
Sangekar.

Family
Dynamics and Stress :
Health
is a multifactor phenomenon and so is Stress. Fortunately the science
of Homoeopathy is also multifactorial. It takes every aspect is taken
into consideration- the environment, family situation, profession and
most important of all-the entire attitude of the individual. The science
also emphasizes on Eugenics. Eugenics is a branch, which deals
with the species not just an individual. It is a study of several humans
and generations not just the present.
"A
human is only a passing phenomenon whereas we have to safeguard the whole
species".
Why
is this approach most suitable today?
In
today's world where every thing is getting globalized materially the body
is also going global-the word being COMPREHENSIVE. Therefore, Holistic
Health is gaining importance against single discrete body problems and
individual problems. Man has realized that health comes as a package deal
and it breaks down as a package deal as well. There are not one but several
environmental factors responsible for the health of the entire family.
This is what we term as Family Dynamics. Let us see a typical picture
of a STRESSED OUT FAMILY.
The
father is stressed because he has to provide for the family. He has to
give the best and the latest to his children. The stress of this guilt
(G-STRESS) reduces his work efficacy instead of increasing it.
He comes home to a child who feels deprived of the love of his father.
This child is already in this negative state. He cries to gain
attention, which further stimulates the G-STRESS of the father.
The end result -a frustrated father beats up the child.
The
child's Stress of being unloved has reached its peak-he falls sick. He
now needs extra attention from the mother. The mother has several problems
at work with a colleague. She is trying hard to keep the family happy
and deal with a jealous male colleague at office. The result is that the
mother's stress of competition (C-STRESS) and responsibility (G-STRESS)
reach a peak and she comes down with elbow pain - acute synovitis of the
joint. Now we have a family that is sick in the body as well as mind.
How
do we deal with this?
The
child needs a remedy for the fever, which understands his basic problem
of neglect and eases this feeling in him.
End
result -A more secure and a better-behaved healthy child.
The
father needs a remedy to relieve his guilt feeling and give him the freedom
to work without the burden.
End
result -Better work efficacy and happy moods.
Reduced
risks of physical problems
The
mother needs medication for her synovitis, which in turn will understand
her stresses at work and make her free from her sensitivity to the envious
milieu.
End
result- She feels free at work. In the same situation she is, now,
least bothered of the environment and can make best use of her time for
work as well as her children.
All
the energy of the family that was being used up negatively is now totally
STRESS FREE AND UTILISED IN BEING HAPPY TOGETHER.
PREGNANT
WOMEN and HOMOEOPATHY:
Lets
us take an example of a mother who is a little fearful by nature. Every
little thing upsets her .She reads the newspapers and is convinced that
the next theft would be in her house. Her husband returns late from work
and she fears he met with an accident. These for an adult are minor fears,
which we can reason out. But these in a pregnant woman directly affect
the child. The child will also manifest the same fears, the same traits
and the same negative emotions of the mother. When a pregnant mother takes
Homoeopathy, not only is her state calm and healthy, but the child born
is also in a much peaceful and healthier state of mind. The reflection
of this is positively seen in his behavior, his physical development and
his body immunity.
When
you can help your family and create a better environment around you why
settle for anything less!
Corporate Stress :
We,
Dr.Shachindra and Dr.Bhawisha Joshi, are a team of internationally acclaimed
Homoeopathic doctors working in co-ordination with restricted lives consultant
Dr. Zahid Panchi and occupational therapist Dr. Amol Sangekar. After repeated
successes with our patients we have now designed a comprehensive care
program to maneuver your stress in a way that reduces its disease causing
capacity and actually enhances your efficacy and productivity.
As we all know a triumphant business means hard commitments, glorious
goals and colossal production. It implies loads of competition, struggle,
running against deadlines and not cracking down under pressure.
The
Bottom line is that Stress is essential and unavoidable. Our experience
says it is very easily manageable.
How
is this possible?
We have broken stress into several components in our program
-
Internal stress
-
Environmental stress
Internal
stress: This involves
-
Emotional stress--- e.g. anxieties, neurosis,
-
Organ and System stress---e.g. asthma, neurodermatitis, ulcers, angina,
hypertension
-
Mental stress --competition, targets, goals ,etc.
Environmental
stress:
-
Physical stress-cervical spondilitis, low back pain, etc.
-
Postural stress-seating postures, driving postures etc.
How
do we tackle these?
-
Therapeutic intervention
-
Preventive and ergonomic advice
-
Boosting your energy and molding your personality so that you work disease
free
and stress free
After
all happiness and freedom is what we all yearn for.
Working
in this all-encompassing fashion we have succeeded to bring about a radical
change in moods, behavioural patterns and energy levels of our patients
some of whom might have walked in for complaints of angina, asthma, low
backache or even simple recurrent sinusitis.
We aim to improve restricted life-styles in the high-risk group and enhance
the vigor and quality of life among the health-conscious.
If
you have this kind of a comprehensive therapy available - Why settle for
anything less.
We
are sure that you would like to know more about this kind of a holistic,
non-invasive and harmless solution. For this very purpose we conduct a
short two-hour informative workshop called
Towards
Prolific Life and Performances
